The care home, which is part of Community Integrated Care, supports 60 older people and people with Dementia. The awards took place on Friday 19th October in Glasgow and were presented by entertainer Michelle McManus.
The team collected the ‘Meaningful Activities Award’ at the event, recognising creativity and commitment in providing meaningful activity for residents, keeping them engaged, healthy and active. Criteria for the award included having an exceptional range of services for residents, understanding of individuals’ needs for different activities and an awareness of how to motivate people.
Judges were impressed with the extensive activity programmes on offer for people supported at Charnwood Lodge, including the delivery of gardening sessions, arts & crafts, intergenerational visits with schools, and exciting trips into the community.
