Community Integrated Care wishes a fond farewell to our Chair of the Board of Trustees, Libby Raper, who has stepped down from her role this week.

Libby joined Community Integrated Care in 2018, with a wealth of leadership experience from both the public and private sector, whilst also having held Senior Chair roles for almost a decade.

During her tenure, Libby has led our charity through many of our key achievements; architecting two organisational strategies, shaping our operational structure to support growth in key areas, and using her passion for the arts, sports, and cultural fields to nurture many life-changing community partnership projects.

Most recently, Libby has expertly led the recruitment and appointment of our charity’s Chief Executive Officer, Jim Kane, setting us up on a confident path for the years ahead.

On her departure, Libby commented: “This role has been a privilege, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to play my part in such a special organisation, filled with wonderful people who truly make a difference to people’s lives every day.”

“The real honour has been on the many occasions I’ve been out and about in our services and offices, meeting our colleagues and the incredible people we support. Seeing Best Lives Possible in action has always been my favourite part of this role, and I am so grateful to each of you for the part you have played.”

“I step down from my role safe in the knowledge that Community Integrated Care is in great hands. With a committed Board of Trustees that have provided me with endless support and expertise throughout my time here, and a strong, talented Executive Team that has a clear vision for the future of this charity. In the interim, I hand the reins of Chair over to Mandy Wearne, who will do a brilliant job until a permanent appointment to the Board is made.”

Jim Kane, Chief Executive Officer at Community Integrated Care said: “Within her time with us, Libby has made an enormous impact – her progressive vision and ambition for the organisation has led Community Integrated Care through many successes. Most importantly, Libby has been a powerful advocate for our colleagues and the people we support being at the heart of everything we do and has embodied our core values throughout, especially in moments of challenge and most notably throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.”

He continued, “Whilst everyone at our charity is extremely sad to say goodbye, she leaves with our sincerest gratitude for her incredible contribution and bestows a wonderful legacy. Libby has ensured that her successor is on a strong footing, and we look forward to welcoming applications to follow her as our Chair of the Board of Trustees in 2024.”
