Community Integrated Care win big at The Great Yorkshire Care Awards

Community Integrated Care is proud to have been awarded two top care sector honours at this year’s Great Yorkshire and Humberside Care Awards.

The event, which took place on Friday 22nd November at the National Railway Museum in York, saw the charity collect both the ‘Care Innovator’ and ‘Housing with Care’ accolades. The Great Yorkshire Care Awards

Community Integrated Care’s partnership with Super League and the Rugby Football League (RFL), collected the ‘Care Innovator’ at the event, after successfully winning the same accolade earlier this year at The Great North West Care Awards.

The Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League is a world-first programme that has given almost 200 people who have learning disabilities and autism the chance to fulfil their sporting dreams. Since its launch at the 2019 Dacia Magic Weekend at Anfield Stadium, it has captivated supporters and been featured at a number of high-profile Betfred Super League events and inclusive festivals, developed by the RFL.

The charity’s Service Leader, Audomar Bracho, was also recognised at the event being awarded the ‘Housing with Care’ title. This acknowledges the massive impact he’s had Cherry Tree House, a service which cares for six people with complex needs, since being in his post since 2018.

Marc Brodie, Managing Director (NE) at Community Integrated Care said, “We’re absolutely delighted to have collected the ‘Care Innovator’ award at the Great Yorkshire and Humberside Care Awards, celebrating a phenomenal first year for the Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League. The project has been genuinely inspirational, changing lives through sport and making Rugby League dreams come true for so many of the players!”

He continued, “And of course, a huge congratulations to Audomar Bracho, Service Leader for our Cherry Tree House service in Rotheram – it’s great to see that our colleagues are being recognised for being the very best of the social care sector.”

All finalists will now go forward to the national finals of the Great British Care Awards, taking place in London in March 2020.
