St John's

St John's is a nursing care home based in Darlington, County Durham. Our home is in a great location as it is close to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, Durham Cathedral and Darlington town centre. We cater for up to 24 people and pride ourselves on providing high quality care and support to all of our residents.

Care and Support

• Our home offers high quality care and support, providing specialist dementia and palliative care.
• We also support older people with enduring mental health concerns.
• All of our staff receive a range of specialist training and are available 24-hours a day.
• All residents are assigned their own key worker and they work together to create a personalised care plan which identifies the key areas of support.
• We have strong links with the Alzheimer’s Society and local advocacy groups.
• We respect the spiritual and cultural beliefs of our residents and ensure they have access to their local faith groups.

Home Comforts

• Each resident has their own large en-suite bedroom, which can be personalised and furnished to their own taste.
• Meals are home cooked by our own chef and we welcome suggestions from residents.
• We have a number of communal areas including television rooms and a spacious conservatory.  
• We have no restrictions on visiting hours and encourage residents’ friends and family to be part of life at St Johns.

An Active Life

• We run an extensive activity program, offering activities such as bingo, arts and crafts, movie nights, reminiscence sessions and day trips.
• We host regular social events for residents, their friends and family.
• St Johns is part of the local community and we often receive visits from local schools and community groups.
