Independent Living

CIC's Independent Living services provide support to people across Scotland with learning difficulties, mental health concerns, autism, acquired brain injuries and physical disabilities, enabling them to live full and happy lives within their communities.

We have over two decades of experience in providing Independent Living support. With our breadth of skills and experience in delivering innovative solutions, we are able to provide greater independence and a better quality of life for every person we support.

Across Scotland we provide:

Working in partnership

We work in partnership with people who use our services, their families, commissioning teams, GP's, clinicians and carers to deliver effective social care solutions.

A specialist understanding

With our extensive experience, we have developed a specialist understanding of how to best support people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health concerns and autism. We have a forum for each of our Independent Living specialisms in Scotland, which are focussed on reviewing best practice and delivering innovation.

We also have expertise in employing assistive technologies and telecare systems, having successfully used them in a variety of settings to improve the independence and safety of the people we support.

Delivering independence

We aim to enable the people we support to grow in independence and develop their own support networks. In doing so, we have been able to safely reduce the amount of paid support many people require from CIC – empowering the individual and meeting the needs of local commissioners.

CIC supports the drive towards personalisation in Scotland and have great experience in providing a range of services to individual budget holders.

Staff Training

CIC has silver Investors in People status across Scotland. All of our staff receive a wide range of mandatory and bespoke training and are supported to develop innovative practices.

Social Inclusion

CIC is committed to the promoting social integration locally and nationally. Across Scotland we have a number of regional social inclusion groups which allow our service users to have their say and influence the way we provide our support
