Independent Living

CIC's Independent Living services provide support to thousands of people across England with learning difficulties, mental health concerns, autism and physical disabilities, enabling them to live full and happy lives within their communities.

We have over two decades of experience in providing Independent Living support. With our breadth of services and experience of delivering innovative solutions, we are able to provide greater independence and a better quality of life for every person we support.

We provide:

Working in Partnership

We work in partnership with people who use our services, their families, commissioning teams, GP's, clinicians and carers to deliver effective social care solutions.

CIC has Investors in People status across many of our services and has achieved National Autistic Society accreditation in a number of settings.

Personalised services

CIC supports the drive towards personalisation and champion the 'Think Local, Act Personal Strategy.' We have been involved developing personalised services since our participation in the first government In Control pilot in the North East.

Staff Training

Staff in CIC's Independent Living services receive a wide range of mandatory and bespoke training. In 2011, 78% of CIC's staff had achieved or were working towards gaining an NVQ / Diploma level qualification, far surpassing Skills for Care suggested average of 50%.

Social Inclusion

CIC is committed to the promoting social integration locally and nationally. Our national social inclusion group SING (Social Inclusion Network Group), meet with CIC's management to give their feedback on being part of CIC – our strengths and the things we can do better. This feedback is used by our Executive Team to continually improve our services.
