Our Environmental Commitment
CIC takes its social responsibilities seriously and this extends to our dedication to become a more environmentally conscious organisation. We believe that it is important for the CIC community to take proactive steps to minimise any negative impact on the environment. Over the past few years we have supported a number of environmentally positive initiatives and even collected a prestigious National Business Award’s nomination for our CSR efforts.
At the core of our environmental approach is a commitment to Reducing, Reusing and Recycling.
Reducing
To become a more environmentally sustainable organisation CIC have looked at ways to reduce waste in all its forms and become more energy efficient. There are lots of ways we do this, from cutting down on the amount of paper we use to reducing the amount of electricity we waste.
Reusing
We want to provide the best possible service to the people we support and this means investing in good quality products. Where possible, we make sure that the items we buy come from sustainable sources and are used as effectively and fully as possible.
Recycling
Recycling is as popular activity within CIC, with many of our service users and staff choosing to get involved in recycling initiatives. From packaging to waste, we want to make sure that everything that can be recycled will be.
All of us in CIC, from our services to our offices, are instrumental in making these changes happen. As a large organisation, we know that making lots of seemingly small changes can make a big difference and that we will all feel rewarded by the end result.
Everyone at CIC is passionate about providing the best quality care for the people we support, and if we mirror this enthusiasm in our environmental efforts, then we will be doing something we can all be really proud of.
