CIC backs campaign to end mental health discrimination .

CIC has became the latest organisation in Scotland to pledge its commitment to eliminating the stigma and discrimination of mental ill-health, when our Chief Executive, Phil Edgington, signed the ‘See Me’ pledge today in Perth.

‘See me’, is Scotland’s national mental health anti-stigma campaign. Their pledge campaign sees organisations of all kinds make a public commitment to raising awareness about mental health issues in the workplace and beyond.

The CIC Group is one of the biggest social care charities in the UK, supporting over 4500 people. Our charity provides a number of mental health services across Scotland, as well as services that support individuals with learning difficulties, physical disabilities and older people.

The CIC Group has pledged to provide its workforce with mental health training as part of their inductions, offer mental health training to families and other smaller care organisations, and to raise awareness of mental health issues amongst its employees and the wider communities in which it works.

Phil Edgington, CIC Group Chief Executive, said, “The CIC Group is dedicated to providing excellent support to individuals with mental health concerns as well as promoting positive messages that challenge the stigma associated with mental health problems. As an employer, we are also committed to doing what we can to ensure the mental wellbeing of our staff. Therefore, we were delighted to show our support to the See Me campaign by signing the pledge.”
