Our Independent Living Services support adults and children with learning difficulties, mental health concerns, physical disabilities and autism.

Learning difficulties

With over 20 years experience of supporting individuals with learning difficulties, we strongly support the government initiatives for self directed support for the people who want it.

Physical and profound disabilities

CIC support people with physical disabilities in a variety of settings. Our focus is on what individuals can do and how we can help build on the abilities they have, to ensure they have an active life in the community.

Out highly trained nursing and support staff work with local primary care teams including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists etc. Additionally, we link to Independent Living Centres and physical disability teams. CIC uses the Crisis Prevention Institute Model (CPI) which is accredited by the British Institute for learning Disability (BILD). CIC staff are trained to become accredited trainers and advanced trainers, by the Crisis Prevention Institute.

Mental Health

We provide support nationwide for people affected by mental health problems. Our services range from supporting people in their own tenancies to providing opportunities through meaningful day activities.

Autism

CIC provide support for individuals on the Autistic Spectrum. CIC staff teams receive specialist training to ensure we deliver best quality support.

We are currently undergoing accreditation with the National Autistic Society (NAS) for some of our services. Our property services department provides additional expertise on housing planning and design specific to people on the autistic spectrum. Children's Enablement

Our Children's Enablement Services support children with autism and learning difficulties to access activities within their community.

We focus on providing support with both life and social skills, including both health and emotional related needs. Our approach is child-centred and family focused, and our aim is to meet the needs of every child we support so they can reach their full potential. Early Support, Every Child Matters green paper and the National Service Framework for Children informs CIC's approach to this new service delivery.
