About us
Rievaulx Resource Centre is a day service which provides support, training and employment for up to 60 adults with learning difficulties in Billingham, Cleveland.
 
 
Rievaulx is committed to providing individuals with educational and occupational training and employment that matches their individual needs.
 
Students gain independence by fullfilling their individual goals and aspirations in a variety of areas, in addition to having the opportinity to gain employment at the centre. Working in conjunction with Shaw Trust, Rievaulx provides a supportive working environment, where students gain paid employment whilst aquiring new skills.
Our services
Rievaulx students can access a range of services and activities at the centre which include:
 
  • arts and crafts
  • woodwork
  • computer skills
  • cookery
  • drama
  • music
  • farming
 
Rievaulx also owns a plot of land attached to a local farm, where students grow their own organic vegetables and plants, which they sell in a local farm shop. Rievaulx also works in conjunction with the local college providing students with a variety of educational courses and qualifications.
How it works
Each student at the centre has a daily timetable of activities and learning that matches their individual needs. Students are regularly assessed and supported to develop their skills and individual aspirations further.
How do I get involved?
Admissions and referrals to Rievaulx are made via your social worker or community nurse.
