How it works
At GOALS a member of staff will be assigned to you as your personal key worker this person will work with you to help you gain practical life skills in cooking, shopping and budgeting etc, all of which will help you prepare for living independently.

We encourage each young person to agree and commit to an individual support programme of education and/or training for their personal and professional development. We recognise that the young people who live at GOALS are often from very diverse backgrounds and so we ensure that we tailor your support programme to meet your specific needs and abilities.

All the staff at GOALS are committed to providing you with support and assistance to enable you to realise your full life potential.

About us

Halton GOALS is a supported housing, education and personal development project for young people aged between 16 and 25.

We offer supported accommodation, as well as access to individual training and development, for up to two years. Our project is split between two sites our main complex in Runcorn and a four bedroom house in Widnes.

Moving on.

After a period of time at GOALS, you will receive assistance in finding your own accommodation. A Move-on Officer will help you with all aspects of moving on from the project and living independently.

We have six move-on units which are closely run as self contained flats. Whilst living here you will be monitored to see how you budget and cope with living alone, in preparation for moving into your own accommodation.

Getting Started

If you do find yourself without a place to stay, or in very short term accommodation, you should contact Halton Borough Council’s Direct Link Service on their 24-hour helpline (0303 333 4300) and declare yourself homeless.

The Council’s Housing Solutions team have a variety of options available to help you, including referral to one of CIC’s Homelessness Services. Once we have received your referral, a member of our team will contact you to make an appointment for an interview.

At your interview, we will talk to you about why you have become homeless and discuss your previous housing history. Anything you tell us will remain confidential, unless you instruct us otherwise. We will contact you as soon as possible after your interview to let you know the outcome of your application.
