Work Action

Work Action is a CIC Day Service based in Epsom, Surrey, that supports people with learning difficulties to gain rewarding work experience and take part in fun activities.

People supported by Work Action, provide a range of services for local charities and businesses including:

  • Administrative tasks – Such as collating items for mail, adding inserts into envelopes, and helping with mail handing.
  • Assembly tasks – For example putting together promotional items such as pens and badges.

All of the money raised by these work services is invested back into the Work Action, so that we can offer the people we support can enjoy other great experiences, such as fun day trips out.

People who access work action are supported to:

  • Gain new skills
  • Grow in independence and experience
  • Have fun, working alongside their friends.
  • Access their local community, meeting local businesses and charities.

Work Action is available between 8.30am – 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Sandra Graves, manager of Work Action, tells us how her service has helped Trevor Gordon develop throughout his 16 years of support from the service:

“When Trevor joined Work Action in 1995 he was very shy and quiet, and had limited experience of being part of his local community. 16 years later and Trevor has become the most confident, sociable, enthusiastic and popular person you could ever wish to meet.

I am very proud of the role that Work Action has played in Trevor’s personal development. He loves coming to Work Action and visiting the many companies we work with, delivering work and mail handling. Trevor is a great ambassador for our service and true success story.”
