Rievaulx
Rievaulx Resource Centre is a CIC day service which provides support, training and employment for up to 60 adults with learning difficulties in Billingham, Cleveland.
Our day centre supports students to gain independence by taking part in a range of fun and educational activities, in addition to having the opportunity to gain employment at the centre. Rievaulx provides a supportive working environment, where students can gain paid employment whilst acquiring new skills.
Our services
Rievaulx students can access a range of services and activities at the centre which include:
- Creative fun - Arts and crafts, drama and performing Arts.
- Exercise and health - Sporting activities, rebound therapy, physiotherapy.
- Life skills – Budgeting / independent living skills, cooking and food preparation, healthy living classes.
- Relaxation – Sensory stimulation, hair and beauty, chill out.
- Practical fun - Gardening project skills, woodwork.
- Technology - Computer skills, media workshop.
- Communication classes and support – Sign Language, Makaton etc.
Rievaulx also works in conjunction with their local college, providing students with a variety of educational courses and qualifications.
How it works
Each student at the centre has a daily timetable of activities and learning that matches their individual needs. Students are regularly assessed and supported to develop their skills and individual aspirations further.
How do I get involved?
Admissions and referrals to Rievaulx are made via your social worker or community nurse.
