Enablement Workshop - Training and development for people with learning difficulties and mental health concernsCIC Enablement Workshops in Leicester provide daily fun, creative and educational workshops for people with learning difficulties and mental health concerns. We offer an exciting alternative to traditional day services by providing flexible sessions focussed on the interests and aspirations of the people we support, helping them to develop new life skills and experiences, as well as have a great social experience.

  • IT Skills - Computer basics and support to use the Internet.

    • Paul’s Story

Paul has Asperger’s Syndrome and was recommended Enablement Workshops as a way of meeting new people and learning new skills.

Paul often finds new situations and surrounding difficult and at first was anxious about joining our group, however, he soon settled in and began to love being part of our service!

Enablement Workshops have really developed Paul's social skills and helped him to overcome some of his shyness. He has made lots of new friends and often helps to organise events that we take part in, alongside some of the other people we support.

Paul joins in all of the activities we offer – from cookery classes to playing pool against his fellow service users and staff; arts and crafts to computer lessons; he has tried it all! More so, Paul has seized the opportunity to join our basic literacy and numeracy classes and has really developed his skills in these areas. We are so proud of how far Paul has come.

Sushma has learning difficulties and mental health issues. She says that Enablement Workshops have helped her overcome depression and anxiety, and experience more from life.

“I’ve always lacked confidence, so the fact that staff at Enablement Workshops are so supportive and encouraging has made a big difference to me. I am always excited coming to Enablement Workshops because I know I will be around friends, and trying something different and fun.

I’ve done so much here, like cookery classes and going on day trips, and this experience has really encouraged me. I am studying basic English and Maths at college and the staff here support me with my homework and studies, which has been such a help. I’m so glad I joined Enablement Workshops.”
