Introduction

Thank you for your interest in Merse House. Please let us take this opportunity to tell you why we are proud of our home.

At CIC’s Merse House, a huge emphasis is placed on providing you with a home from home environment, treating you with dignity and respect, recognising your rights and your need for privacy.
Merse House is a 32 bed care home which provides care and support for older people. Situated in the small fishing town of Kirkcudbright, the views from our home look right across the River Dee. Merse House is at the heart of the community and within easy walking distance of local shops, churches, parks and transport services.
Merse House offers a homely, happy and relaxed atmosphere, which is superbly designed and offers easy access for wheelchair users. Our home has recently been refurbished to a high standard and the interior professionally designed with the involvement of both residents and colleagues. All rooms are on ground floor level and have en-suite facilities. Each room has television and telephone points, plus individual heating control. Couples can be accommodated for by converting rooms into a bedroom and sitting room arrangement.
You are encouraged to reflect your individuality in the décor of your room. You can personalise your room with your own treasured photographs, ornaments and furnishings, if you wish. Merse House offers a selection of lounge areas and each wing has its own domestic kitchen and dining room. At Merse House we have pleasant, landscaped gardens complete with tables, seating areas and a greenhouse. You can get involved in the upkeep and design of the gardens, if you wish.
